Michael Roberts
Trumpet
Born in Sheffield, England, Michael began playing the trumpet at the age of seven, gifted by his grandfather, a famous drummer. He played solo at the Royal Albert Hall and at a mass band concert, both in front of Her Majesty the Queen. At 14, Michael passed the Royal Collage of Music exams and began playing professionally for touring bands and as a session musician, playing with top recording stars.
Greg Gorman
Bari Sax, Alto Sax, Vocals
Greg Gorman, born in Los Angeles, started playing the alto saxophone at 10 and mastered the baritone saxophone at 15. He discovered his singing talent at 17, combining his vocal tone with instrumental expertise. After graduating from the California Institute of the Arts, Gorman gained recognition as a sought-after saxophonist and vocalist. He has performed with legendary artists and at major venues, earning a reputation for dynamic performances and musical versatility.
Bob Thornburgh
Drummer
Born in Kansas to a musician father, Bob started playing drums at the age of six. He started his own bands, including Four Play, Frog, Forest, and Motor Head, covering 70's rock. In the 90s, he moved to Casper, Wyoming, where he formed heavy metal bands and a power trio called Trilogy. In the early 2000s, Bob and his wife Vicky formed The Believers, an acoustic band covering old school country music, blues, and rock and roll. In 2014, Bob was invited to play drums for The Soulcats, a collaboration with Michael Roberts.
John Ovrebo
Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Cow Bell, Viborslap
The author, a son of a church organist and choir director, started playing sax in 1973 due to poor fluency. They have extensive experience in Big Band Jazz, including Richard Clark and Riptide Big Bands. They have a passion for Blues and Soul music, and joining Soul Cats has allowed them to explore their Soul Side. Playing Cow Bell has been the ultimate musical experience.
Miles Pepe Castro White
Lead Male Vocal, Harmonica
Miles Pepe Castro White is a talented male vocalist and harmonica player known for his unique blend of soulful voice and masterful harmonica skills. Keyboard player/singer for The Soul Cats. Originally from Chicago(blues capital)Illinois. Number one priority is entertaining audiences. He is quoted as saying, "If at the end of the night I have contributed anything towards putting on a show for the people, then my work is done. Hope to see you at our next engagement."

David Smith
Tenor Sax
David Smith, a Maryland native, began playing the alto saxophone at age 13. He played in church and attended Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA. He served in the Air Force from 1997-2017, playing for churches and jazz/R&B/funk bands. Smith's main influences include Gospel, Jazz, Funk, and R&B. He currently plays for various central coast bands and worships in church bands.
